- Well Mark I find that substituting TVP (soya mince) for mince suffices
- as long as you add a little extra on the spice, onion, garlic and tomato
- puree front.
-
- 1. Soak 1 packet textured vegetable protein for 10 minutes with 1
- vegetable stock cube, then drain.
- 2. Fry 2 medium onions and 3 cloves garlic until brown
- then add 1/4 pound mushrooms (optional mixed red, green peppers
- - I prefer it without)
- 3. Add mixed spices: chili, cumin and dash of cinnamon
- 4. Stir in TVP
- 5. Add large jar of tomato puree, tin of tomatoes
- 6. Add sprinkling of mixed herbs and stock cube
- 7. Simmer for 1 hour adding water as necessary
- 8. Add tin of kidney beans, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 1-2 tsp vinegar.
-
- Serve with long grain or brown rice and garlic bread.
-
- Let me know how you found it.
